Interior Design Staging & Styling
/The benefits of staging and styling a home going on the market
What is Staging?
Staging is about showcasing an engaging, move-in ready home that creates an emotional connection with the buyer. Quality staging can make a home feel “lived in” and inviting. Updating décor with on-trend, inviting style—particularly in living rooms, primary bedrooms, kitchens, and dining rooms—can make a memorable impression. Once engaged, buyers will be more committed and possibly willing to increase their offer, and they may be less likely to change their minds at the last minute or ask for concessions.
82% of buyers' agents said staging helped their clients visualize the property as their home, according to the National Association of REALTORS® 2021 Profile of Home Staging.
We approached this home staging project like a personal interior design job - how do we make these spaces feel inspiring and fresh - inviting, calm and relaxing to potential buyers.
Our approach was to first create an inviting living room with a clean, neutral transitional / contemporary palette that is easy to interpret and add personality to. Next we focused on the relationship to the dining area and the kitchen - in partnership to the living space. From their we put together vignettes for the bedrooms, making each their own unique space but with an underlying foundation that connects all the spaces together.
Because this was a large staging project with tight turn around, we actually sourced a lot of our furnishings from Wayfair and Amazon - everything we couldn’t find locally through our consignment shops at local furniture company Artesanos. We had a budget to work with so our biggest challenge, besides staying within our budget, was finding transitional furnishings that we could elevate with accents and special touches like textiles, artwork, plants, etc.
We partnered with Artesanos Design Collection and local artists Heidi Chowen Studio, Andrea Martens, Tony Homquist and Deborah Sussex - check them all out for beautiful, one of a kind pieces to grow your own art collection:
To create a lived-in feeling, we added special touches like curated textiles, one-of-a-kind art, coffee table books, candles, plants and culinary elements in the kitchen.
