Meet the Team
A native of Milan, Italy, Duna moved to the United States in 2000, two years after getting her Master’s degree in Architecture with a minor in Interior Design and with a year spent at the Denmark Design School in Copenhagen.
Her first year stateside, Duna lived in San Diego and worked for a large architecture firm, and later moved to NYC where she lived for 16 years before moving to Durango in 2017. While in New York Duna worked for Sam Trimble Design Inc. and later at the flagship showrooms of two major international kitchen design companies, Boffi and Molteni&Dada, based in Italy. As a project manager for both companies, Duna worked with renowned architects and developers, as well as dozens of private clients to help design and build their kitchen from the initial concept through final installations, working within different budgets and highly customized solutions. During these years she has also worked as a freelance architect and interior designer for a variety of projects including residential and commercial remodels.
In 2008 Duna took a sabbatical year and went back once again to Italy to get a second Master’s Degree in Architecture Restoration in Rome.
Duna regularly attends the International Design Fair held in Milan where all the new kitchen and interior design products are presented each year.
As a designer at heart, Elsa, approaches individualized spaces through artful curation.
After living abroad in Northern Europe and Sweden obtaining a Masters in Sustainability, she fell in love with the power of simple and natural design and the Scandinavian approach to clean minimalism. Working with natural, organic elements and various works of art, Elsa approaches spaces with a curatorial eye where she can help bring authentic spaces to life with art form at the center. Her signature style is mixing minimal, clean and sustainable Scandinavian-inspired palettes with personalized design that looks natural, artfully collected and lived in.
As an enthusiast for the environment and the arts, Elsa has a passion for sustainability and a keen eye for contemporary design. She is constantly researching new adaptive and environmentally certified products while also hunting for new artists, collectables and unique finds to accent customized spaces. Travel and exploring unique hubs of art, design and culture - abroad and regionally, has always been a source of inspiration for her work. When not in the office or busy on job sites, she enjoys exploring the surrounding wilds with her kids and husband.
